Once you have placed all the dots, join them together to reveal your personal wheel of life (see example below). Place your dot anywhere between the center and the edge of the wheel to indicate your satisfaction level. In most cases, you will probably fall somewhere in between. To indicate satisfaction, place the dot on the outside edge of the circle. To indicate dissatisfaction, place a dot at the center of the circle. Ask yourself how you can prioritise these areas, what steps can you take to gently lift these scores and feel more balanced? It’s time to create an action plan to make this happen. Now you know which areas need attention and what your ideal score for those areas would be. What would it look like for them to be at an ideal score? Remember, you can return to this tool time and time again - it’s OK for priorities to change. Instead we would encourage you to think about what an ‘ideal’ score would be for each area.Ĭonsider your circumstances, what time and resources you have available and which areas you really want to focus on. While many of us may want to achieve a perfect score of 10 in each area, this is unrealistic and will likely only make us feel worse about ourselves as we pursue an impossibility. How does it look? Can you see where your balance may be off? Consider your ideal score for each area Simply connect the dots to form your circle. Mark your scores on each spoke with a dot or cross. Take time with this step and consider how much attention you’re currently giving each area. If everything in that area is perfect and you’re happy with it, it’s a 10, if there’s work needed, it’ll score lower.
